In team-comp consider leaning slightly more towards Bleed as plenty of enemies will have hefty Blight resistances. Skills with Bleed and Blight effects will be exceptionally useful when dealing with them, as damage over time spells shouldn’t leave corpses behind. They’re particularly pesky during the final boss encounter so resort to AoE spells like Plague Doctor’s Noxious Blast to clear them ASAP. And two - which is no less important - is the fact that if left untouched Crystalline Aberrations will explode dealing damage to the party, potentially ending the run prematurely. One is that it will restore health to the party member that lands the killing blow. There are two good reasons to destroy them as soon as possible. Once you figure out a setup and strategy to kill most monster groups within 2-3 turns, the whole "RNG to stronk" blabla will evaporate.Crystalline Aberrations are husks left behind after an enemy has been slain. Playing first is probably the biggest advantage you can ever get, Quick Reflexes & On Guard are immensely powerful quirks (the former to ensure initiative on fast characters, the later to "boost" slow ones.) Exceptions do exist (Pelagic groupers amongst other things.) and remain aware that crits can happen. Lastly, discard tank'n spanking completely: Speed and control are paramount.Ĭontrol gimmick monsters and focus them down, without them most of the "basic" front line monsters are powerless and may even be used to heal up/stress relief. Secondly, make sure to learn which supply item goes with each curio, turning every curio into a positive outcome will make the game a >LOT< easier. Do not let greed or boldness trap you, go for objectives, be done with them, if you are given a truckload of loot but your party is completely exhausted, call it. If your party starts to completely lose it when faced with a chain of unlucky crits/fumbles or an affliction cascade, throw the towel and live to fight another day. Heroes die when anger and overconfidence put you on the edge. Firstly and most importantly, never let pride get in the way:
